Costa Coffee reveals huge menu shake-up with 8 new items and return of popular viral drink this week

COSTA has launched its brand new spring menu today, and it features five brand new items, as well as some returning favourites.

Fans will be especially excited to find out that one of the chain’s most popular viral drinks is making a return – just in time for sunnier weather.

From today, Costa customers can order the Iced Whipped Latte once again.

This time it’s making a permanent comeback and can be enjoyed in caramel and white chocolate flavours.

Prices start at £3.75 for the specialty iced drink — but keep in mind that how much you spend will vary depending on store and location.

There are also plenty of returning food options, too, such as the Nacho and Chilli Cheese Toastie.

The toastie is packed with chicken and nacho cheese and is topped with jalepenos and crunchy tortilla chips, with prices starting from £5.20 if you’re wanting to get your hands on one.

Costa’s Egg Mayo sandwich is also once again available to buy if you’re fancying a lighter bite and is available from £2.89.

Plus, the Triple Chocolate Muffin returns as an option for chocolate-lovers – filled with a rich chocolate sauce and topped with chocolate chunks.

The muffin is priced at £2.86, but, when bought with a small or medium beverage, you only have to pay £4.99 in total.

But the most exciting part of the launch is all the never-seen-before goodies which are up for grabs.

Customers can add the brand new Cinnamon Bun Syrup to their drinks.

You can opt for hot or cold — both the Cinnamon Bun Latte and Iced Latte start at £4.

You can also enjoy a range of sweet treats which have never been seen in Costa before, including a Chocolate and Pistachio Cookie Sandwich.

It has been introduced off the back of a recent viral pistachio-craze, the dark chocolate biscuit treat costs £3.10

Also joining the lineup is a new Strawberry and Vanilla Cake which features light vanilla sponge, cream cheese frosting, and fruity strawberry jam, costing £3.65 – though prices can vary by store.

There are also two new gingerbread cookie designs, but these are Easter themed.

The biscuits, which cost £1.90 each, are adorned with sweet frosting depicting a chick hatching from an egg in pastel pink and blue.

Customers can also get first access to innocent’s new 80ml Immunity Shot (Ginger & Turmeric) and Gut Health Shot (Calcium & Apple Cider Vinegar) until April 2.

Those who buy an Immunity Shot between these dates will only have to spend £1 when buying in-store.

Demand for seasonal items is often high, so make sure you’re quick to try the latest offerings before they run out.

HOW TO SAVE CASH ON COFFEE

It helps to save money by downloading the Costa app and becoming a Costa member for free.

Costa Coffee members get benefits such as free drinks, birthday treats, and extra beans.

They can get one free handcrafted drink for every 10 drinks purchased in store.

Members also get a free cake on their birthday, which they can claim by opening the Costa app, going to Settings, and tapping View and edit birthday.

They also get one extra bean (point) for each reusable cup used in store and have the ability to swap two beans for a pump of syrup, a dash of cream, an extra shot of coffee, or a dairy alternative.

Even though the membership is free and helpful to save money, bear in mind that these schemes are made to encourage you to spend more.

Take the perks when you can — but don’t use it as an excuse to buy more coffees than you usually would.

A great way to save on coffee is making your own at home, opting for smaller sizes, or grabbing something simple like an Americano.

If you fancy the excitement of a Costa, you can still make one cheap yourself with the Costa Coffee sachets available in most supermarkets.

For example, the sachets come in packs of six from Tesco and cost £2.30 in a range of flavours — so just 38p a cup.

Remember to always compare prices when shopping around by browsing the websites of a couple different supermarkets.

You can also use the comparison website Trolley, which does the job for you, and helps you make sure you’ve got the best deal.
