“A24 is going to campaign the sh*t out of this”: Timothée Chalamet’s 1st Oscar Win Could Be Super Close Despite Failing to Break Adrien Brody’s Record

A Complete Unknown allowed Timothée Chalamet to get into the Best Actor race at the Academy Awards. However, it seemed like it was not in the cards for the actor, as Adrien Brody ended nabbing the Award for his work in The Brutalist. However, the coming year might be another change for Chalamet, as A24’s offering with the actor in the lead role is definitely going to receive an intensive Oscar campaign of its own.

Marty Supreme, a sports adventure comedy-drama, is set to release in December of 2025. Along with Chalamet, the film has an all-star cast with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, The Creator and Penn Jillette. This film, while reportedly inspired by the life of a professional table tennis player Marty Reisman, is a completely fictional, original story rather than being a biopic.

Josh Safdie will be directing Marty Supreme, his first solo directing endeavor since 2008

Timothée Chalamet lost out on the Academy Award for the best actor despite his amazing performance in A Complete Unknown. However, there seems to be another opportunity on the horizon for Chalamet, as Marty Supreme would be the next A24 offering that could finally get the actor his well-deserved Oscar win. A lot of fans expected his win to come thanks to her performance in Dune Part Two, but that did not materialize either.

However, given that Josh Safdie will be helming the project, the first since The Pleasure of Being Robbed in 2008. While Safdie’s previous solo directorial run was not as well received critically, Chalamet’s recent streak of prestige projects might be what allows the director to finally get a solo Oscar nomination.

A24 has become quite the Awards contender since Moonlight

A24 has been able to deliver a slew of films that have managed to make quite the splash during Awards season. Be it The Brutalist, Moonlight, or Everything Everywhere All At Once, A24 has managed to create a library of films that have managed to get a lot of recognition when it comes to the Oscars.

Given that the production house has had such a brilliant streak when it came to the films that it has released, along with the fact that Chalamet has been churning out some great acting in the projects that he is a part of, the chances of the actor getting a nomination in the coming year (and winning it) have just shot up astronomically.

He has had a wonderful few years at the box office too, with his films like Wonka, and the Dune Duology managing to propel him to be in the running to be one of Hollywood’s new leading men. With his box office presence going up with each subsequent blockbuster, and prestige projects coming his way by the butt load, Chalamet might have a bright few careers ahead of him.
