Georgia Toffolo accused of ‘mocking poor people’ as she shares ‘budget bride’ snaps of wedding to millionaire James Watt

GEORGIA Toffolo has been accused of “mocking poor people” after sharing snaps from her “budget” wedding to James Watt.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 30, tired the knot with Brewdog founder James, 42, last week and won praise from fans for the low-key celebrations – despite their huge wealth

And they had a very low-key wedding despite being multi-millionaires

While Toff is thought to be a millionaire many times over herself thanks to reality TV and presenting work, James is said to have a net worth of more than £250million.

And she took to Instagram today to share snaps of her choice of transportation on her wedding day, showing off a budget minibus.

Toff was seen posing at the door of the vehicle in her minimalist dress and she captioned her upload: “Bride en route.”

But some of her followers think she is taking the “budget bride” thing too far now.

One wrote: “You’re trying to be down to earth so bad it’s just embarrassing.”

Another said: “Oh yes, let’s cosplay like a commoner, peasant for the day! How niche and quirky.”

And a third added: “Many people have no choice but to hire this type of vehicle for a wedding, many more can’t afford to get married at all.

“Whilst I doubt this was intended with malice, as someone with such influence, a gentle reminder to consider how something funny and ironic in your world may well land so different to someone on the breadline.”

And James’ outfit was just as low-key, with him wearing overalls, a cable-knit jumper and woolly hat as they celebrated on the water in a tribute to his late fisherman dad Jim.

Guests received just 48 hours’ notice of the surprise nuptials where the couple’s spaniel, Monty, acted as ring bearer.

James’s two daughters from his previous marriage to illustrator Johanna Basford were bridesmaids in Gardenstown, Aberdeenshire.

Discussing their special day, Georgia later said: “It was so unchoreographed, we just came out of the church and thought ‘where do we go now?’

“We’re just sat in the car, we’re going to go meet everyone but oh my God this is the best day of our lives.”
