When asked about the midfielder, Bradley expressed his delight about the addition.

He said: “Seán is someone we looked at before he signed for Derry City. He had a lot of contacts with his agent at that point in time, but it just wasn’t the right timing for him.

“He had certain personnel that were in that position, but we’ve been talking to him again for the last while.”

The Rovers’ boss we on to explain how the former Derry City ace would fit into his side.

He added: “I think he has brilliant attributes that will suit how we play in those areas. We’re really happy to get Seán in.”

“The good thing about Seán is he can play in any of the three centre back positions, or also the wing back position.

“When you look at it now, it makes us really strong in those areas with Lee Grace, Pico Lopes, Dan Cleary, Adam Matthews, Josh Honohan, Victor Ozhianvuna, Danny Grant, Cory O’Sullivan and Trevor Clarke.

“It gives us lots of options, which we need. We demand a lot of the players in those positions as over the course of a season, it does take its toll on the body. So, it’s important to have those options.”

The player hasn’t played this year but Bradley reckons he’ll be match fit soon.

He concluded: “Hopefully he’s near. We don’t know for sure, he’s in with us training today so we should see a bit today.

“We don’t really know until we get them in and have a look, but hopefully Seán is ready to go and not too far from it.”

Robertson admitted that he’s delighted to sign for the Tallght based outfit, and is raring to get involved.

He said: “I’m delighted to sign for such a big club. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be here, so yeah can’t wait to get started. I’m looking forward to meeting the fans at the next home game.”
