Diablo 4’s March of the Goblins event is back, and this time, it’s bringing some familiar things you’ll remember from Diablo 3. We can expect to see not only an increased number of Treasure Goblins but also the introduction of six brand-new Goblin variants with unique rewards.

This exciting event kicks off on March 4 at 10 a.m. PST and runs until March 11 at 10 a.m. PDT, giving players a full week to hunt down these elusive creatures. And the best part of this is that it won’t just be another forgettable event for us because the newly introduced Goblin types will remain in the game.
Diablo 4 brings back our favorite goblin event with a revamp
For the duration of the event, Treasure Goblins will spawn more frequently across all World Tiers. We can also expect to encounter larger packs of Goblins, so it’ll be easier to farm them for loot. In addition, Greed Shrines that boost gold drop rates and movement speed will appear more often. It’s not the big expansion we wanted but it is interesting.
The goblin hordes return. And they’re bringing friends 💰
When March of the Goblins arrives on March 4th, 6 new Treasure Goblin variants will be permanently making their home in #DiabloIV.

The biggest part of the return of this event is the six new goblins that Blizzard is giving us. Here’s a breakdown of what each Goblin drops:
- Odious Ector (Green): Drops crafting materials in normal difficulty and Obducite in Torment.
- Gilded Baron (Gold): A walking goldmine, this Goblin only drops gold, but in large amounts.
- Glittering Prym (White): Drops gem fragments, runes, Undercity Tributes, and Scattered Prisms in Torment tiers.
- Curious Murl (Purple): Drops Murmuring Obols, even if your inventory is full.
- Gelatinous Syrus (Ghostly Blue): Splits into smaller versions when killed, dropping at least one Legendary item, gold, Boss summoning materials, and an Elixir.
- Fancy Old Fedric (Pink): The rarest Goblin, dropping a Mythic Unique, a Resplendent Spark, and eternal bragging rights.
The most wild of Diablo 4’s new Goblin roster is Fancy Old Fedric, a near-mythical Goblin so rare that many players may never encounter it. If you’re lucky enough to find and slay Fedri, you will be rewarded with a Mythic Unique item and a Resplendent Spark. It is easily going to be one of the most coveted targets in the game.
It’s more than just new goblins too

The March of the Goblins event will also feature a Reputation system that rewards some of us dedicated players. As we find and defeat Treasure Goblins, we’ll get Reputation points that contribute to an overall Goblin slayer rank. As we reach higher ranks, it’ll increase the rate of Treasure Bags dropping from Goblins.
Upon reaching the highest rank, players will unlock a Resplendent Spark, an item used to craft Mythic Uniques. It seems like this new event is going to encourage grinding, which is pretty much what we’ve signed up for already. So if higher Goblin kill counts translate to better loot, then sign us up.
While the event itself will end on March 11, the new Goblin variants are here to stay. While their spawn rates will return to normal, they will remain part of the game’s ecosystem across both Eternal and Seasonal Realms.
Diablo 4 is proving that Blizzard is committed to giving the game constant updates and events. General manager Rod Fergusson spoke about this at the recent DICE Summit 2025 saying that the dev team is focused on keeping Diablo 4 alive for years to come.
