‘Devil May Cry’ Is Giving Us Just Another Reason as to Why the ‘Castlevania’ Spin-offs Shouldn’t End

The much-awaited Devil May Cry animated adaptation is soon going to be released on Netflix, and fans are all ready for it. One of the biggest gaming series in the world, Devil May Cry, already had an established fanbase who have been supporting the franchise since the first game came out way back in 2001.

The series was also announced long ago, in 2018, and ever since then, the fans have been waiting to see how their favorite video game will look as a series. To give a glimpse of it, the creators have shared a new clip that shows Dante, the series protagonist, in action. It perfectly explains the path that the upcoming series will take, and it is safe to say that the series will be filled with action, drama, and the charm of Devil Hunter Dante.

However, what fans might not know is that the creator of Devil May Cry and Castlevania, another great video game adaptation, is the same. And their excellence in creating the Devil May Cry series proves that they should return with another big Castlevania spin-off.

Devil May Cry’s new clip shows what the upcoming series will look like

IGN shared a new clip for the upcoming Devil May Cry series on X, which highlighted the story’s protagonist Dante, taking down three dangerous demons in the blink of an eye and saving a young woman. The scene is filled with high-quality action and first-class animation that perfectly works with the legendary Demon Hunter’s charm.

The clip also features Ebony and Ivory, Dante’s iconic pistols, which have been his choice of weapon against a horde of monstrous demons.

It perfectly adapts Dante’s action and fighting style from the original gaming series that was developed and published by Capcom. The clip was the hint that the series is going to be filled with similar epic moments that will bring out the true essence of Devil May Cry.

Devil May Cry is produced by Adi Shankar (also known for Castlevania) and is scheduled to be released on April 3 on Netflix. To mark the release, Netflix has also released a new poster of the series on their X account, which hints that the streaming platform is all set for another video game adaptation that is going to take the world by storm.

Devil May Cry gives another reason for a new Castlevania spin-off

As mentioned above, both the upcoming Devil May Cry animated series and the Castlevania video game adaptation are produced by Adi Shankar. The popular American film producer has worked on many big projects, but these two have been the biggest, considering their fanbase and the anticipation they create at the time of release.

By the looks of the new Devil May Cry clip, it is safe to assume that the series is going to be great in terms of animation quality and action. It is destined to succeed and will only open the way for other big video game adaptations. However, the correct path would be to come up with a new Castlevania spin-off series that would be established in the same universe.

The horror action-adventure video game world of Castlevania has had multiple installments, and each of them tells a different story but in the same universe. Thus, with an already established fanbase and a decent storyline, another Castlevania spin-off would be the best way to go.

Devil May Cry will be available to stream on Netflix.
