Daniel Tuffuor, a 21-year-old final-year student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), is set to reappear in court on 17 March 2025 after being remanded into police custody over the alleged murder of his fellow final-year student, Joana Deladem Yabani.
Tuffuor was arrested on 27 February 2025 following the discovery of Joana’s lifeless body on campus earlier that morning. The university’s security service alerted the police, leading to his detention.
Prosecutors, citing the need for further investigations, requested his remand when he appeared before the Prempeh District Court.
The court granted the request, setting 17 March 2025 as his next appearance date.
The police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding Joana’s tragic death.
