Boruto Still Hasn’t Explored the 6th Great Nation of Naruto That Could Hold a Treasure Trove of Forbidden S-Rank Techniques

Did you know the world of Naruto does not solely consist of shinobis? Unlike what you would expect, Naruto also has samurai, though they barely ever make an appearance. But what if these samurai were to make a proper appearance in Boruto?

Huge trouble is on the horizon and Boruto and co. would need every kind of help possible to defeat it. Even the Fourth Shinobi War might fall flat in front of the new antagonists. And that is exactly why the Land of Iron needs to make a proper entrance in the story.

Boruto is yet to explore one hidden chest of power from Naruto

The Land of Iron is one of the few places that have been left largely unexplored in Naruto. Masashi Kishimoto expanded on every powerful nation, clan, and their histories but never touched upon the Land of Iron, despite it belonging to an intimidating bunch of samurai. According to Naruto lore, The Land of Iron is a snow-covered country whose military is made up entirely of samurai.

However, due to the differences in ideologies between the samurai and shinobi, no one interferes in the matters of the samurai. Additionally, the samurai of the land are formidable enemies. The Land of Iron serves as a neutral space for shinobis to hold diplomatic discussions. After becoming Hokage, Naruto tried to bridge the gap between the samurai and shinobi.

But this plotline has been forgotten so far in the story. However, with trouble brewing again and a huge battle that is slowly approaching, the Land of Iron might finally emerge from its isolation.

Why the Land of Iron may have chosen neutrality, and it’s high time for them to renounce it

The Land of Iron might have been one of the six great nations in Naruto, powerful enough to rival the Five Great Shinobi nations. However, after the rise of ninjutsu and as ninja clans began discovering chakra-based techniques, traditional combat styles were deemed less effective in large-scale wars.

The shinobi could have been the rulers of vast territories through their discipline and swordsmanship. However due to the rise of shinobis, The Land of Iron chose neutrality in order to survive. Otherwise, they could have been wiped out by the opposing forces. Thus, they chose to isolate themselves. The samurai preserved their traditions and techniques while living in a snowy landscape that no one would dare invade.

But with time, they began losing influence. Their military force dwindled, and since they stopped waging wars, they were erased from history and are no longer relevant. But remnants of their former greatness might still exist. Forbidden samurai techniques, long-lost history, or hidden factions could still be awaiting the right chance to prove the former greatness of the empire.

If a big enough battle brews, the samurai will have no other option than to step out of their neutrality. With the scale of the upcoming war, it is likely to happen as well. The Land of Iron might be forced to come out of their self-imposed neutrality.

Naruto and Boruto anime are available to watch on Crunchyroll and the manga are currently available on Viz Media.
