Popular media personality Afia Pokua, widely known as Vim Lady, has showered praises on President John Dramani Mahama for his recent appointments, describing them as a reflection of his appreciation for loyalty and dedication.
Speaking on her Gyaso Gyaso program, which was broadcast live on social media, Vim Lady commended Mahama for recognizing those who stood by him during his time in opposition.
“President Mahama has shown that he values loyalty. He has rewarded the hardworking individuals who stayed with him through difficult times,” she stated.
She specifically pointed to the appointment of Abeiku Santana as the Deputy Minister-designate for Tourism, calling it a testament to Mahama’s sound judgment.
“Abeiku Santana’s appointment is well deserved. It shows that Mahama does not forget those who support him. This is the kind of leadership that strengthens a party,” she remarked.
Vim Lady further asserted that if Mahama continues to demonstrate such qualities while effectively running the country, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will remain dominant and keep the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in opposition for a long time.
“If Mahama keeps working like this, the NDC will be in power for a very long time. The NPP will struggle to come back,” she declared.
Taking a swipe at President Nana Akufo-Addo, she accused him of favoring friends and family in his appointments, sidelining the party’s core members.
“Akufo-Addo’s government has been about family and friends, ignoring the real party people who worked for him,” she criticized.
In her view, Mahama’s approach to governance and appointments is more commendable, setting a standard that resonates with party loyalists and the general public.
