Speaking about his role in Kannappa and his spiritual connection with Lord Shiva, Akshay said, “This is my destiny, I am fortunate to get such opportunities. I consider myself lucky. In OMG I played Lord Krishna, in OMG2 I played Lord Shiva, and now in Kannappa I am portraying Lord Shiva again. Where in life do you get such wonderful roles?”
Akshay went on to discuss his childhood memories and the spiritual upbringing he had received. “Since childhood, my parents always told me that Lord Shiva is your father, and Mata Rani is your mother. It has always been like that. The connection is natural for some people, while others may not experience it the same way.”
He further reflected on the nature of his work in films, calling them “a small medium.” He mentioned, “Films are just a small channel, a medium. OMG Part 1 and Part 2 were made, and now I’m part of Kannappa. I also made a film like Ram Setu. These are all just mediums to share devotion. You can take as much faith from them as you want. The problem is that many people don’t believe in it. When science confirms something, people believe it.”
Kannappa starring Vishnu Manchu, Mohan Babu, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Madhoo , Mohanlal will hit the cinemas on 25th April, 2025.
