On the other hand, we have the James Bond franchise, a celebrated iconic action-spy film series that has amassed a huge fan following over decades of its existence. So, to have Nolan make a Bond film would certainly have been an iconic collaboration and would have helped the franchise in more ways than can be measured.
However, as a recent report by Variety reveals, Barbara Broccoli rejected the filmmaker from making a Bond film since she did not want any director with a final cut to dabble with the franchise. Nolan was reportedly interested in directing a James Bond flick after Tenet, but after the rejection, he went on to direct Oppenheimer and we all know how that one went.
