A waiter and a taxi driver have been arrested after herders discovered his remains 60 miles away.

We look at five unanswered questions from the chilling case including the motive for the murder and two mystery men spotted hours before his brutal slaying.

What was the motive for Campbell’s murder?

Animal herders found his body stuffed into a sack in the Makongo forest on Saturday morning.

We told how the moment the body was discovered and hauled from a bush was captured on camera.

At this time a motive for the alleged killing remains unclear but detectives fear he may have been tied up and tortured.

Talking to Kenyan paper The Standard, local administrator Thomas Maitha said: “He appeared to have been tortured.

“The body which was in a bad state, prompted us to escalate the matter further.

“In addition to the physical injuries, the killer had tied his hands from the back, and stuffed the body in the sack which had been packed with ripe pineapples.”

Where did Campbell go during the days he was missing?

Teams spent hours on Tuesday at the isolated spot where Campbell’s mutilated body was dumped.

Kenyan newspapers said detectives are probing a theory that he was held against his will at a house on the Pipeline estate while thieves stole his cash.

Franklin Wallah added: “Plans are underway for an autopsy as police work on forensic analysis of the deceased’s mobile phone and his bank accounts.

“Police want to find out if there are any financial transactions proper to Scott’s killing.”

Who are the two men spotted with Campbell in his final hours?

A mystery man was captured on CCTV alongside the Scot before he vanished.

Officers believe the suspect booked a taxi and then went with Campbell to a notorious slum in the city.

Franklin Wallah of Citizen TV said: “Investigators are pursuing crucial details into arresting key suspects who are considered to be persons of interest in the brutal murder of British national Campbell Scott.

“Among the two is this man. Police say they are pursuing him to record his statement.

“It is suspected the man is the one who requested a taxi and took a ride with the deceased to Nairobi’s Pipeline estate.”

Who was the mystery friend he met in a gay bar?

The last known CCTV image of Campbell at the hotel where he was staying shows him wearing a Scotland rugby top.

Police believe Campbell visited a gay bar in the upmarket Westlands area of Nairobi on February 15, the day before his disappearance.

Kenya’s Directorate of Criminal Investigations said the following day he returned to the bar to meet a friend before taking a taxi to Pipeline, one of the city’s biggest slums, shortly after 7pm.

Cops believe Campbell was held at a house there, possibly while his abductors attempted to steal money from his bank accounts.

What information was found on Campbell’s phone?

It’s understood the taxi driver led detectives to a house in the Pipeline estate where he said he dropped Campbell off with his mystery pal.

Investigations found his mobile phone was last switched on in Mlolongo, Machakos County, on the day he vanished.
