Jessica Park gave England a deserved lead infront of a packed house in the capital.
But shortly after the break, the floodlights abruptly cut out.
Play was suspended as both teams gathered on the side of the field.
Sarina Wiegman used the time to hold an impromptu talk with her team, who had been under pressure since the restart.
The stadium’s advertising hoardings remained on despite the power failure.
And the spectators attempted to play their part by waving thousands of phone torches in the darkness.
