This plotline definitely did not age well. As soon as it premiered on Apple TV+, Ted Lasso has been praised for its strong storytelling and character development. But despite its success and popularity, one plotline of the show hasn’t been well received by viewers. For example, the situation between Ted and his wife Michelle has caught the attention of viewers, but for all the wrong reasons.
This was Michelle starting a relationship with Dr. Jacob, who, interestingly, was also their old marriage counselor. While this could have been a perfect opportunity to dive deeper into an emotionally complex situation, the series simply chose to ignore this fact. It was treated as if it was just another challenge in Ted’s life that he needed to deal with.

Apparently, the duo had “officially dissolved” their relationship towards the start of the pandemic, but they co-parented together for the sake of their kids.
