The 43-year-old Lullaby singer said she hosted a kids party for her daughter but it was their dad’s night to have the kids.

With the house left empty afterwards, Paloma didn’t know what to do with herself, saying it felt like “a tragedy”.

She wondered if she should “spend the rest of my free time tidying their mess or go and drink three margaritas and smoke roll-ups”.

In a touching post, the mum-of-two explained: “Joyous screams, jelly and ice cream, balloons popping, hysteria and loud music.

“And then they left, running off to their father’s house because it was ‘his night.’

“The house once bursting with energy, now sat still.. Carefree mess, deflated balloons, smeared chocolate on pink velvet chairs.

“I sat and stared at the wall, full of sugar, wondering if I was fat and ugly now or just tired and old, after being kept awake by excited children the night before.

“This was a tragedy one cannot explain.

“The sound, the frenetic energy completely stopped.”

Paloma went on: “The promise of other kids screaming outside, hoping it was my own, saying they couldn’t bear to leave and wanted to come back.

“But it wouldn’t be. It shouldn’t be. They need both parents.”

The star ended her post by describing the emptiness she felt when she was alone.

She said: “They hugged me on their way out, smiling, saying, ‘Thank you, Mama, for the best party ever.’

“And then I was there, worn out, glazed, wondering if I should spend the rest of my free time tidying their mess or go and drink three margaritas and smoke roll-ups… This was lonely.”

TV presenter Fearne Cotton, who recently announced her own split, wrote back: “Love u”.

Another person said: “Ooooooof no words but thank you for yours. I felt that. Did you have the margs? I would have done.”

TOUGH SPLT

Paloma split from her ex Leyman Lahcine in 2022 after ten years.

She married the French artist, 38, in 2017 and they share two daughters, born in 2016 and 2021.

Talking in an interview with SheerLuxe shortly after the split, the star said: “It’s about the worst break-up I’ve ever had, because it’s the longest relationship I’ve ever had, and we obviously had two kids together, so it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to me in my life.”

She wrote about it on her single How You Leave A Man and sixth her album, The Glorification of Sadness Paloma.

She added: “I couldn’t ignore it when I was writing, but also the most private I feel about it because there’s kids involved, so it’s weird but I’m hoping the songs speak for themselves.

“I’m not mincing my words, am I, when I’m doing a song called How You Leave A Man? It’s like, ‘Oh I wonder what it’s about.’ But I find it liberating.

“I feel like the whole album, when you go from start to finish, it’s basically chronicling the stages of grief and it goes from the self destructive moments to the insular moments to the really vulnerable moments.

“And actually, the kind of unusual bits for me as a female artist are the empowered moments.”

Paloma had a whirlwind nine-month marriage to New Zealand chef Rian Haynes – with the pair tying-the-knot in 2005.

MUM STRUGGLE

She previously revealed she had IVF to conceive her daughters with Leyman.

The pop star said: “Conceiving was harder than I thought. I ended up going down the IVF route after my partner and I encountered problems.

“We felt it was our only option – so that was something unexpected right off the bat.

“Then, when I did get pregnant, my body didn’t react well.

“I’ve always worked out consistently and been able to maintain the same weight, but suddenly it felt like everything went haywire – almost overnight.”
