Olivehurst, Calif. – The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for a suspect involved in a violent confrontation in Olivehurst on Monday evening, which necessitated the deployment of a SWAT team.
Authorities report the suspect allegedly struck a person with a vehicle and discharged a firearm at another individual. The incident unfolded around 7 p.m. near Arboga Road and Kay Street, prompting multiple calls to the Yuba County Dispatch Center.
Deputies arriving at the scene found one victim with moderate injuries from being hit by a vehicle. The injured individual was transported to Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital in Marysville for medical attention.
A second victim informed deputies that the suspect had fired a weapon at them before retreating into a residence on the 5700 block of Arboga Road. In response, the Sheriff’s Office activated its SWAT team, which established a perimeter around the house.
Despite extensive efforts to establish contact with the suspect, SWAT team members eventually entered the residence, only to find it empty. However, a firearm was discovered inside, according to the sheriff’s office.
Efforts to identify and apprehend the suspect are ongoing. The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate and has urged anyone with relevant information to come forward. Further details have not been disclosed at this time.
