Kevin claimed his late mother became pregnant by Phil after meeting him in London

The dad-of-three made headlines in 2019 when he claimed his late mother had been paid off by Phil to keep his birth quiet.

A friend, Sean Meaney, organiser of the annual Phil Lynott Convention, told The Irish Sun: “Kevin was a lost soul. I spoke to him many times and he was desperately seeking proof and validation that he was Phil’s son.

“He was lost as a person because he was never able to find out the identity of his father.”

Born in 1981 and brought up in Liverpool by foster parents, Kevin claimed that his late mother, Michelle Delaney, became pregnant by Phil after meeting him in London.

In 1988 — two years after the rocker’s death — Kevin said his family sat him down and showed him a video of a live Thin Lizzy gig, and told him for the first time that the charismatic frontman was his real father.

But they said he waited until Phil’s mum Philomena passed away in 2019 before going public.

However, his half-sister Anita Scott disputed his claims, previously telling The Irish Sun: “If my mother was paid off by Phil Lynott, why did she spend her whole life living in caravans by the side of the road in poverty?”

The 38-year-old, said their mother — who was also known as Mary Ellen Delaney — never once mentioned Phil Lynott when she returned to live in Ireland in 1990 and right up until her death in Christmas 2004.

However, Kevin Finnie repeated the claim he was Philo’s son — which he said had led to him being targeted by trolls.

He said: “People are calling me all sorts of names and saying I have an agenda to get something out of this. My phone hasn’t stopped ringing.”

‘CLOSURE’ PLEA

He added: “All I want from this is closure. I’ve had a tough enough time of it — I just want to finally know who my birth father is.”

But Kevin’s half-sister Anita branded him an attention seeker.

She said she had known nothing about him until he featured in a Jeremy Kyle show seeking a DNA test from her sister, Josie, in 2017.

She said: “If he knew he was Phil Lynott’s son, why didn’t he mention that to Jeremy Kyle two years ago?”

A birth certificate seen by The Irish Sun states Kevin was born Jesse Noordin in Liverpool in November 1981, with no name given for his father.
