On Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers will host the Dallas Mavericks, giving Luka Doncic his first chance to take on the team that shockingly traded him away less than a month ago. After a bit of a rough start to his Lakers tenure, Doncic put together a virtuoso performance in the team’s recent win vs the Denver Nuggets, pushing Los Angeles’ record to 34-21 in the process.
On Tuesday, all eyes will be on the five-time First Team All NBA member as he looks to prove, if it wasn’t already clear enough, that the Mavericks made a dire mistake by trading away their franchise player.
One person who is excited about what will unfold on the Crypto.com Arena hardwood is former Lakers forward Chandler Parsons, who recently took to the “Run It Back” show, presented by FanDuel TV, to make a bold prediction for the game.
“I think he’ll have a 40-piece… I think [Luka Doncic] has a personal vendetta against Nico Harrison… LeBron’s gonna be spoon feeding him.”
Making matters even more interesting is the fact that Nico Harrison, the general manager who made himself infamous by trading away Doncic, will reportedly be in attendance for the matchup, according to Stephen A. Smith of ESPN.
A spectacle in LA

The fact that Anthony Davis won’t be able to suit up for what would have been his return to Los Angeles takes a bit of the juice out of this matchup, but the Lakers vs Mavericks game on Tuesday will still figure to be filled with plenty of intensity as Doncic takes on his former squad.
The Mavericks got off to a decent start to their post-Doncic era, highlighted by a road win over the Boston Celtics, but have since fallen back down to Earth with a blowout loss at the hands of the Golden State Warriors Sunday.
The Lakers, meanwhile, have overcome a couple of puzzling losses to bottom tier teams by winning two straight games heading into the matchup, including Saturday’s road win over Denver.
In any case, the Mavericks and Lakers are slated to tip things off at 10:00 PM ET.
