Zoë Kravitz Confirms There’s No Bad Blood With Ex Channing Tatum After Their Unexpected Breakup

When Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum called off their engagement in October 2024, it took fans by surprise. After all, the duo, who had gotten engaged a year earlier in October 2023, had been hard at work promoting their new movie Blink Twice for months leading up to their split.

But now, a few months after their breakup, Kravitz is breaking her silence on it all, and clarifying that there’s no real bad blood between them.

When asked by Elle if their split has affected how she feels about the movie, which also marked her directorial debut, Kravitz immediately denied it. “Not at all,” she told the outlet. “I love this thing that we made together, and I care for him very much. Even when you bring up how great his performance is, it warms my heart to hear that, and I’m so happy that all of it happened. I just feel so grateful that we got to go on that journey together.”

Kravitz then continued, gushing about her ex’s impressive acting chops.

“He has so much more coming, and I think he’s in a place as an actor where he’s feeling really confident and people are seeing different sides of him,” she continued. “He’s got a lot to offer, so I’m excited for people to keep witnessing that.”

Not only do these sweet quotes confirm they ended on good terms, but they might even have fans of the couple rooting for a reconciliation too.

So why did Tatum and Kravitz break up then? Well, sources reported on what really went down between them at the time of their split.

“Zoë is a very independent person. After her divorce, she expressed that she didn’t necessarily need to get married again,” a source told Us Weekly. Kravitz was married to ex Karl Glusman from 2019 to 2021 while Tatum was married to Jenna Dewan from 2009 to 2019.

“She and Channing are opposites, but they always bonded over their love for art and film, and that is what held them together,” the source continued. “Ultimately once the project ended, they realized they were on different pages with what they wanted. It fizzled fast after their press tour wrapped. They realized long-term that it wasn’t going to work out.”

“They were looking at the long-term bigger picture and realized they may not be a good match,” the source explained. “There is still a lot of love between them, and [the split] was amicable.”

In other words, once their joint priority (Blink Twice) ended, they realized they weren’t as compatible as they once thought. Despite how heartbreaking that must’ve been, we know now just how amicable their breakup truly was.
