Meghan Markle’s New Video of Prince Archie & Princess Lilibet Proves at Least One Thing They Inherited From Her

It is becoming clearer by the day that Meghan Markle and Prince Archie’s kids really do consider the United States their home. Despite their ties to the British crown, Prince Archie, 5 and Princess Lilibet, 3 have been raised in California, and while they got their royal blood and possibly their red hair from their dad (at least for a little bit), it’s apparent that they got something entirely American from Markle.

A new clip of the Sussex kids proves that the kiddos have inherited their mom’s American accent.

In videos posted on the Duchess of Sussex’s Instagram Story and later shared on X (formerly Twitter), Markle and her kids spend time in their garden. One clip showed the former actress watering some shrubs and flowers before asking one of her kiddos if they want to help.

It’s unclear which child responds, but it’s clear they have their mom’s lilt. And if one sibling has it, we’d bet good money that the other speaks that way too.

“Only if you want me [to],” the little one said, before their mom passed them the hose.

It must be so strange for Prince Harry to hear his kids speak in an accent different from his own, but it makes sense given that the family has lived in the States since 2020 and haven’t been granted the proper security to visit the royal family in the United Kingdom.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet — who have been famously shielded from the press and the public — have made a shocking number of appearances on Markle’s recently relaunched Instagram account. Especially since she changed her lifestyle brand’s name to “As ever.”

Not only did the Duchess of Sussex include a rare shot of her daughter in the photo of her company’s landing page, but she included the sweetest nods to her son and husband in the brand’s logo.

Most stunning of all, is that Markle included videos on her Instagram Story where she prepared an adorable Valentine’s Day breakfast with her kids. In the footage, the trio make bagels with what looks like strawberry cream cheese with heart-shaped strawberries on top. How festive and scrumptious! We didn’t hear their seemingly-American accents then, but given Markle’s recent social media track record, we have no doubt we will hear more from them soon. Literally.

Even royal kiddos love to be read to! Here are some of their favorites.
