HBO’s satirical show The White Lotus never fails to bring surprises! In a cameo role, the beloved actor Ke Huy Quan from Everything Everywhere All At Once made a small appearance. The Oscar-winning actor is playing the role of Kenny, Timothy’s business partner.
The second episode of The White Lotus Season 3 shows arrogant businessman Timothy (played by Jason Isaacs) making a panicked call to his business partner Kenny. On the other end of the call, we can hear the familiar voice of Quan as Kenny. Though the actor has not been credited for his role by IMDb, HBO has confirmed that the voice is of Quan.
How does the situation unravel?
When Timothy receives a call from The Wall Street Journal regarding his shady financial dealings in the first episode of The White Lotus season 3, he leaves a voicemail to Kenny, his business partner. In the second episode, Kenny calls him back stating that he has been investigated by the FBI because an insider of their company has exposed him.
Timothy is deeply affected in this scenario because he did a ‘favor’ to Kenny by helping him with money laundering and bribery, which also earned Timothy a hefty amount of $10 million. With the revelation of this news, the world of Timothy Ratliff is crumbling as both he and Kenny may be arrested.
Cameo characters in The White Lotus
Mike White loves to add spice to this satirical series The White Lotus. Casting Quan for the role of Kenny is not the first time he has introduced a cameo celebrity character. In The White Lotus Season 2, Laura Dern played the cameo role of the estranged wife of Dominic (played by Michael Imperioli).
In that intense scene, she was yelling at Dominic for being unfaithful. She also tells him that Dominic has got no support from the family for his actions.
