Randy Orton or The Undertaker Do Not Have the Finishing Move That Hurts the Most – It Is Rey Mysterio

From tailoring personalized outfits to unique entrances, professional wrestlers would do everything to stand out from the sea of faces that leave a lasting impression on the viewers. While charisma and gimmicks are important, the wrestler’s finishing move defines if the crowd is going to love or hate them. From a simple Big Boot to the face to a Choke Slam, every WWE wrestler has their own visually varied finisher.

While most of them looked painful to take, it turns out that professional wrestlers know how to sell the moves. However, not all are meant for aesthetic satisfaction, as WWE veteran Maven spilled the beans on which wrestler’s in-ring move made him hate turning up for action, as it hurt like hell.

Barely feeling it: Randy Orton and The Undertaker’s finishers are only sellouts?

Regardless of the popular belief of how everything in WWE is scripted, where some would even say, “It doesn’t hurt at all.” While the opinions vary from person to person, professional wrestlers put their bodies on the line every time they step foot in the squared circle, where each move can lead to someone getting horribly hurt.

Contrary to popular belief, former WWE star Maven Huffman, popularly known by his first name, took fans to his YouTube channel, hinting at how much it hurts. To give a clear idea of the pain, he presented a scale starting from “Barely feel it” that goes all the way up to “I hate this job.” Maven kicked off the chart with the powerbomb, which would be felt every time he landed on the receiving end of the move, putting it in the “It hurts” category.

After categorizing different moves, he came to rank Randy Orton’s iconic finisher, RKO, to a surprising “Barely feel it” rank, where he went on to describe how professional the Legend Killer has been throughout his career. Maven explained the entire move is executed flawlessly as Orton takes flight only to land his opponent with a simple face bump.

He expressed his doubt on how things might feel different if someone else executed the same move. Nevertheless, taking “50 RKOs” during his period he barely felt a thing, and he makes his finisher look “devastating” while keeping his colleagues “safe the entire time.”

Likewise, he mentioned how when receiving The Undertaker’s finisher, the Tombstone Piledriver, you are supposed to “put all your trust in him.” He emphasized that the move was risky but had a trick to it. He explained that once the audience is anticipating the finisher and the Deadman is selling his move, the receiver is it to “wrap” their arms around and “get a good grip.”

This “supports the head from driving into the mat,” avoiding any fatal injuries. Thus, making him put the iconic move in the “noticeable but not bad” category. Maven clarified that the move can’t be put in the same category as an RKO because others have felt it worse, hurting their neck in the process.

While these two iconic moves can barely leave a scratch on the performers, the 3-time Hardcore Champion explains one move that would always be unbearably painful.

Maven sheds light on the most painful move in all of WWE

The list continues, where different moves felt quite painful, but the first move that will be agonizing to receive is the Frog Splash. To give a clear idea, he drew parallels between the Choke slam and the Powerbomb, where gravity did the devil’s work, but when it came to the high-flying move, nothing relieving could be said about it.

He mentioned how the move will ruin your day, and when you see a wrestler preparing to execute the move, they would weigh over 200 pounds. Thus, claiming the move is not fun to receive, this damage can be amplified if the star is off center, where a “grown man come down with all of his force on you.”

Maven further emphasized how once the sheer impact of the move, his head rebounded against the mat, giving a concussion while he lay flat on the mat. Many wrestlers, including Kevin Owens, Rob Van Dam, Eddie Guerrero, and others, have performed this move, but none have executed it as perfectly as Rey Mysterio, who made it appear painful to receive despite his small stature.

WWE Elimination Chamber will air live on Peacock and Netflix on March 1, 2025, at 7ET/ 4PT.
