Overwatch 2 Player Uses 200 IQ Tactics to Stall a Single Point, Gets Reported

Let’s be honest here, we’re all used to seeing gamers push the limits of Overwatch 2 and use strategies that will leave anyone shocked. Over the years, we’ve seen tons of plays that have clutched matches and saved the day.

However, one Overwatch 2 player has come up with one of the best tactics to stall on Oasis map. Unfortunately, this ended up frustrating their opponents so much that they got mass-reported!

Smart Overwatch 2 strategy allows Wrecking Ball to stall the map

Ever since Wrecking Ball’s introduction in Overwatch, it’s been hailed as one of the best stall heroes. He has the ability to zoom onto the point with a grappling hook and swing around, being a nightmare to hit and shut down.

However, over on Overwatch 2‘s official subreddit, one player has discovered a brand-new strategy to stall with Wrecking Ball. All the player did was use Wrecking Ball’s grappling claw to remain in motion in the little room on the control point Oasis.

Is this allowed? I got reported by 5 ppl for stalling a point:

With this technique, the player was able to delay the enemy team’s capture progress even though their own teammate got wiped down. It’s quite funny that their opponents couldn’t figure out where exactly the Wrecking Ball was hiding. However, several players decided to report the player because they felt that this fair move was actually an exploit.

This wasn’t any kind of exploit; the player simply used existing in-game mechanics and outplayed their opponents. It’s controversial, but doesn’t deserve to be mass-reported.

Hero bans are finally here in Overwatch 2

In the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen Blizzard announcing tons of new features for Overwatch 2. One of them is the highly-requested hero bans. While chatting with GamesRader, game director Aaron Keller opened up about the system and stated that it was an “obvious inclusion.”

Hero bans in the hero-shooter have always been something that gamers have wanted, but it looks to have become a reality due to the system being included in Marvel Rivals. Throughout many different metas of Overwatch, players have felt that adding hero bans would solve a lot of balance issues.

It looks like Blizzard is saving hero bans for the release of Overwatch 2 Season 16. It’s still not known which game mode will have the system, like 6v6, or it’s going to be exclusive to 5v5. We are likely to hear more details about the system in the coming weeks.

It’s not just hero bans; Blizzard is also gearing up to release map voting in the hero-shooter. With this move, the studio will solve one of the biggest complaints in the game and allow players to get more control over where they battle it out.

If Overwatch 2 continues this trajectory and brings updates with fan-requested features and other additions, it won’t be long before the game reestablishes itself as the king of the hero-shooter genre.

With that said, have you tried stalling maps with Wrecking Ball in Overwatch 2? Let us know in the comments below.
