Despite Kristen Bell hosting, and being nominated, at the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards, better known as the SAG Awards, her husband and kids are nowhere to be seen. Obviously, fans were expecting a sweet family moment, or a cute PDA moment with her hubby Dax Shepard, but neither have happened. Why? Well, it’s a very relatable reason: no babysitter available!
In an interview with People ahead of the 2025 SAG Awards, Bell joked that there was “no way to know” if Shepard would be coming.
“He’s his own man and I support him. I don’t know if he’ll even come because to be honest, we don’t have very many babysitters who are ever available and he has to watch the children,” she said. “Sometimes he’s just like, ‘We have no babysitter, God bless, I hope you do great and have a fun night.’”
So it seems that Shepard is taking care of their daughters while Bell returns to the SAG Awards; but we know they’re cheering her at home.
For those who don’t know, Bell and Shepard started dating in 2007. They married after same-sex marriage was legalized in the United States back in 2013. They have since welcomed two daughters named Lincoln, born in March 2013, and Delta, born in Dec 2014.
In a previous interview with SheKnows, Bell talked about how she and Shepard are always honest with their kids, even with Santa. “We told our kids the truth about Santa because they asked, and we made a commitment to always tell them the truth. And it hasn’t made any magic go away,” she said.
