About the Internship
The Finance Internship Programme at Nkangala District Municipality offers a structured two-year opportunity (fixed term) to recent graduates in accounting, finance, or economics. It forms part of the Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP), designed to build capacity and enhance financial management skills in municipalities.
Stipend: R109,877.00 per annum (fixed)
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen residing within Nkangala District Municipality
- A Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Finance
- Including Risk Management or Auditing
- Unemployed and recently graduated
- Must provide original proof of residence and certified qualifications
Key Responsibilities
Interns will be exposed to and trained in:
- Strategic planning and management
- Municipal budgeting
- Finance management
- Risk and audit support
- Compliance and reporting
This internship is part of national efforts to capacitate local municipalities with young financial professionals.
