About the Millwright Apprentice Opportunity
Dana Spicer is offering a unique Millwright Apprenticeship Programme designed to equip aspiring artisans with practical experience in both mechanical and electrical disciplines. This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about engineering and seeking to gain hands-on experience in a technical manufacturing environment.
Apprentices will work under the guidance of experienced mentors and facilitators while supporting the operations team through both preventative and restorative maintenance. The role includes practical and theoretical learning components and offers exposure to industrial, operational, and engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-time attendance to all classroom and practical training
- Participation in on-the-floor maintenance and technical problem-solving
- Performing technical tasks (mechanical and electrical) as assigned
- Working in noisy, dusty environments, at heights, and during shifts or extended hours
- Team collaboration and effective communication
- Closure of corrective maintenance tags
- Upholding safety and operational procedures
Minimum Requirements
- N2 Certificate (minimum) in Electrical or Mechanical
- Matric with Mathematics, Science & Technical Drawing (advantageous)
- 1 year experience in a technical manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Computer literacy in MS Office
- Fluent in English
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be a South African citizen eligible to work and reside in South Africa
