Scotland star Billy Gilmour has been snapped visiting a hometown restaurant ahead of his return to Italy.
The Napoli man started both games for Steve Clarke last week in an ill-fated Greece double-header and doesn’t return to club action until Sunday.

Hailing from Ardrossan on the west coast, the former Rangers and Chelsea kid returned to the seaside town and enjoyed a ‘surprise’ visit to Italian eatery Cecchini’s.
And he wasn’t the only well-known face there. Taking to social media, the restaurant posted: “Brilliant surprise at Cecchini’s this week!
“We had the pleasure of welcoming Billy Gilmour – Scotland international and Serie A midfielder.
“Along with Luca Bish from Love Island, sadly not for a recoupling… just a cracking plate of pasta!
“Thank you so much for visiting, we hope you enjoyed and you are welcome any time.”
Luca Bish is from Brighton (where Gilmour also used to play) and starred in Series 8 of Love Island in 2022 as well as this year’s second series of Love Island: All Stars in which he finished as a runner up.
In his first stint Bish was paired with Gemma Owen, daughter of English footballing legend Michael Owen, but they broke up shortly after the series ended.
Two years ago, he also reached the final of Celebrity Masterchef where he lost out to opera singer Wynne Evans – who you might know better as the Go Compare Man.
23-year-old Gilmour will be no stranger to an Italian restaurant, having joined Serie A side Napoli last summer alongside Scotland teammate Scott McTominay.
Still quite young, the Ardrossan boy has already earned 38 caps for the national side, scoring the only two senior goals of his career thus far on the international stage.
One was against Poland in September, the other against France in October 2023.
Gilmour will be hoping to make his 20th appearance for the Naples club against AC Milan this weekend having come onto a run of games before the international break. Between late November and late February, he only played around 20 total minutes.
The more experienced colleague McTominay on the other hand has fared much better since arriving at the Stadio San Paolo on the same day as Gilmour.
The former Manchester United man is just a couple shy of having played a full 90 in every league game so far this season, scoring six and assisting four.
