The community’s demand for the Elder Scrolls 6 continues to grow by the day, with Bethesda strangely leaving everyone in the dark about the project ever since its reveal back in 2018. It’s been well over a decade since the last entry in the franchise, and the expectations for Elder Scrolls 6 are at an all-time high.

As Bethesda has yet to share any update, gamers continue to theorize what kinds of experiences Bethesda will bring with Elder Scroll 6. However, there’s one particular quest from Starfield that the next Elder Scrolls title must replicate. Otherwise, it would be all over for the RPG from the get-go.
Lessons Elder Scrolls 6 can learn from Starfield
It’s fair to say that Starfield hasn’t managed to reach the same universal acclaim as previous Bethesda games. Even though it’s been nearly two years since the release of the title, gamers are still divided over the RPG.
While Starfield isn’t a perfect game, one particular aspect it has managed to nail is quests. Players who have an adventurous spirit are in for a treat in this game, as there are a number of incredible quests that will allow them to unravel the hidden secrets of Starfield and discover new opportunities.
Some quests in Starfield stand out as absolute must-play, and one of them is Entangled. After landing on Freya II, gamers receive a distress call that pushes them to help the unknown source. Once the origins of the signals are traced, a science lab is found.
At this point, one instantly realizes that the Starfield universe is bigger than what it looks to be. The questline lets players shift between parallel realities, solve puzzles, and make choices that determine the fate of the universe. It’s a really cool sci-fi concept that showcases Bethesda’s writing abilities and something that should be a must in Elder Scrolls 6.
With a similar questline in Elder Scrolls 6, we could see players discovering an ancient Daedric artifact or Elder Scrolls that lets them slip through different versions of Tamriel, one where Thalmor manages to conquer, another where Dragons reign supreme or a dystopian realm where Molag Bal corrupts everything.
Starfield wasn’t the first game that tried its hand with this questline. The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine teased a similar idea with Gaunter O’Dimm’s riddle realm and other possible outcomes. However, Elder Scrolls 6 can take things further.
Imagine having magical or alchemical puzzles that determine which universes become permanent. Not only would players be forced to make morally gray choices, but the RPG aspect of the Elder Scrolls 6 will also be elevated.
Elder Scrolls 6 must change its formula with companions

Bethesda’s RPGs usually only permit gamers to travel around with a single companion at a time. So, if a player in Skyrim is traveling with Serana, they wouldn’t be able to join forces with others without parting their ways with their first companion.
Sure, you could easily swap out these companions for another one, but it’s a dull way to do things in Skyrim, as there’s nothing when it comes to experimentation and growth. The RPG simply forces one to make a choice. As the stats for companions are also vaguely mentioned, it’s hard to justify switching between them.
With Elder Scrolls 6, it’s crucial for Bethesda to change things when it comes to the companion system. Players should be allowed to travel around with multiple companions. It would make combat much easier and allow for deeper companion NPC interactions.
It’s going to be a big challenge for Bethesda to rework this decade-old system, but it might be necessary. Modern RPGs such as Baldur’s Gate 3 have showcased the importance of companions and how it could make the gameplay feel more engaging and rewarding.
