Dinosaurs in No Man’s Sky? The Relic Update Is the Jurassic Park Crossover We Didn’t Know We Needed

No Man’s Sky was the talk of the town back when it was released in 2016. The game developed by Hello Games became an overnight sensation when its trailer came out, and almost a decade later, the game is back with a new update that we didn’t want but most definitely needed.

On March 26, a new update known as ‘Relics‘ just went up for No Man’s Sky and fans of the game are freaking out. It is almost ludicrous how many updates the game has received through the years, with over 37 named updates and 5 content patches released so far.

Let’s find out what is new with this update and if this is going to be any different than any other updates of the title or not.

No Man’s Sky just added their Relics update, and it is awesome

No Man’s Sky is an action-adventure space survival game that blew people’s minds back when it was released. The game was built upon four pillars and those were survival, exploration, combat, and trading. Although all these were some pretty standard stuff, what truly made the game different was the inclusion of procedurally generated planets that players can explore that included more than 18 quintillion planets to explore.

The game is now back with its Relics update, and fans of the game are digging it. As the name of the update suggests, it is going to be about archeology in a sci-fi adventure game where players will unearth hidden treasures and dinosaur fossils from underground.

According to the developers, the skeletal remains of the alien life-forms are going to be procedurally generated as well, and players can now unearth them anytime, piece them in their own way, and can even erect museums of them all. The new update also introduces new golem-like creatures that will pose a threat to the player and are supposed to guard the skeletal remains and treasures.

The new fossils update is also going to add a new Specialist on the space station, who will be happy to barter for any skeletal fragments that you think you already have or don’t want.

Hello Games have kept their survival game relevant even after almost a decade

The Relics update is free to install right now on your gaming system, and this latest update joins the growing list of new content that Hello Games is adding to No Man’s Sky from time to time. While this might seem like a slightly scaled-down update, it is a testament to how the developers are keeping a title alive even though it is almost a decade old.

This new update offers the players a new incentive to return to the stars and go exploring again in an ever-expanding universe now filled with dinosaur remains and dangerous stone golems. Whether you’re a seasoned explorer or a newcomer to the uncharted skies, there has never been a better time to dive back into the stars and uncover the secrets that await.
