It’s claimed the offences were committed at a flat on Argyle Street in Glasgow, between July 2022 and November 2023.

The Daily Record reports English is accused of “allegedly seizing the woman by the head and pressing his thumbs into her eyebrows while she was pregnant”.

It’s alleged he kicked the woman on the body, causing her to fall off a bed and strike an item of furniture, struck her face with an open hand, seized hold of her by her hair and pulled her downwards.

English, who has not yet entered a plea, is accused of refusing to let his partner breastfeed in public, threatening to remove a child from her care and repeatedly criticising her abilities as a mother.

It is claimed he sent her threatening and abusive text messages and isolated his partner from her friends and family.

English is accused of repeatedly accusing her of cheating, searching her clothes and “interrogating” her mobile phone to find evidence of her being unfaithful.

It is also claimed the podcaster demanded that she delete her social media platforms.

He will appear in court again next month.

English made a name for himself with his podcast Anything Goes.

He also appeared in the reality show Glow, which was called the “Scottish equivalent to Towie”.

The Glasgow-based reality show launched online in 2016 and followed a cast of 11 Scots around in their day-to-day life.

He has interviewed a string of topical celebrities including Andrew Tate, Paul Ferris, Tommy Robinson and The Scheme star Marvin Baird.
