One veteran actor believes he had a hand in Leonardo DiCaprio’s long-awaited Oscar win, and his reasoning is as bold as his approach to acting. Comparing his craft to an open invitation, he once declared he’d perform with anyone.
But did his influence truly help Leo snag that golden statue? Fans might have opinions.

Alec Baldwin claims he shaped Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar-winning path
Alec Baldwin didn’t hold back. The veteran actor once compared acting to s*x, saying he’d do it with anyone. But beyond the bold statement, he also claimed he played a role in shaping Leonardo DiCaprio’s career, leading to that long-awaited Oscar win.

DiCaprio, who nearly quit acting early on, had his sights set on a serious career, inspired by his This Boy’s Life co-star Robert De Niro. Baldwin, however, believes his own advice helped Leo stick the landing. Baldwin once said in an interview with PBS News:
Acting was like s*x. And when I was young, I would do it with anybody. You get bedazzled by money and by other things. I always say to people, don’t live a big life in your early career, so you can really, really have a career, like Liam Neeson or like Daniel Day-Lewis, Colin Firth, Kevin Kline, people that I really admire. The who succeed the most in the business, it’s the most important thing in their lives, or at least during a very — kind of the halcyon years.
He added,
I gave this advice to Leonardo DiCaprio, and look what he’s doing. It is just working like a charm for him. He’s did everything I told him to do, and, look, he’s got women jumping out of the trees on him and he’s got an Oscar. So, you’re welcome, Leo.
The two actors crossed paths in The Aviator, the only film DiCaprio ever took acting classes for. Baldwin was impressed, calling him gifted and admiring how he took advantage of his opportunities. But he couldn’t help but notice a quirky habit – whenever DiCaprio was deep in thought, the way he furrowed his brow reminded Baldwin of a symbolic character from East Asian writing.
As for Baldwin? He admits he never built the Hollywood connections DiCaprio did. He reflects on how actors like De Niro thrived by collaborating with directors like Scorsese, calling it a dream scenario. In contrast, Baldwin never felt compelled to follow the paths presented to him, often choosing to take a step back instead.
Leonardo DiCaprio snubbed courtside by Jeanie Buss

Leonardo DiCaprio is used to keeping fans at arm’s length, but this time, the snub was on him. At a Lakers game, team owner Jeanie Buss sat right next to the Hollywood A-lister and barely acknowledged him (reported by Marca). Awkward? Absolutely.
A viral clip shows Leo trying to chat, but Buss wasn’t having it. Witnesses say the exchange was brief, one-sided, and borderline uncomfortable. Fans online wasted no time calling it karma, pointing out how DiCaprio himself rarely engages with admirers.
Still, the Killers of the Flower Moon star didn’t seem fazed. He was courtside with his dad, stepmom, and niece, decked out in his signature black ensemble and LA cap. Whether Buss meant to ignore him or not, the internet had a field day with the moment.
